Using MetaMask with MEW

Many users use MetaMask for it’s ease of use and integration with many popular crypto sites, but they still want to have the functionality that MEW offers. For this reason, we offer support for MetaMask wallets right in our interface. Connecting is simple!

Initial Set-Up

Only for users who do not already have a MetaMask wallet and would like to create one.

Step 1. Find and install the MetaMask extension in the Google Chrome store.

• Make sure it’s the legitimate extension. Are there a lot of users and positive reviews?
• Is it offered by MetaMask.io?
• If all of the above is true, you’re likely on the correct one.

Step 2. Create your wallet.

• Make sure to choose a difficult password and record it on physical paper, just in case.
• Follow the steps carefully, and make sure you write down the 12-word recovery phrase offered by the extension. This will be the only form of recovery for your wallet. Keep it safe.

Step 3. Log into MetaMask and familiarize yourself with your new wallet.

• Take special note of your public address (0x..).

Using MetaMask with MEW

Now that you have your MetaMask wallet, you can access your wallet by following these steps:

Step 1. Login to your MetaMask wallet via their Chrome Extension.

Step 2. On the MEW front page, select ‘Access My Wallet’.

Step 3. Select the ‘Browser Extension’ option to connect.

Step 4. Read and accept the ‘Terms and Conditions’, then select ‘Access My Wallet’.

Step 5. Confirm connection in the MetaMask pop-up window.

Step 6. You’re done!
